Eugene L. Step, Director
Retired Executive Vice President and President,
Pharmaceutical Division, Eli Lilly & Company
Mr. Step was appointed a director of Cell Genesys in March 1993. From
1973 to 1992, Mr. Step served in various positions in senior management
of Eli Lilly and Company, most recently as executive vice president,
president of the pharmaceutical division and a member of the board
of directors and its executive committee. He was chairman of the board
of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association and a past president
of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association.
He is also a director of Scios, Inc., Medco, Inc., Guidant Corporation,
Pathogenesis Corporation and DBT Online Inc. Mr. Step holds a B.A.
degree in economics from the University of Nebraska and an M.S. in
finance and accounting from the University of Illinois. |
